History Of Our Company

The Sand Rock Mineral Water Company of Canton, Ohio has been supplying pure bottled water to greater Stark County residents since 1911.

It was started as a small part-time venture hauling mineral water to Canton by horse and buggy.  Since then the firm has sold millions of gallons of pure bottled artesian spring and distilled water.

George Weidman, first secretary and general manager of Sand Rock, bought the land and deep well from which the first Sand Rock Mineral Water was obtained.  The business was incorporated in August 1911 and moved to the present location in 1913.

George T. Zahler, son-in-law of Mr. Weidman, retired in 1971 as President of Sand Rock after serving 50 years with the firm.

Tom Zahler, son of Mr. Zahler and grandson of Mr. Weidman, and his son Chuck and daughter Kristine present the third and fourth generations to be associated with Sand Rock.
